Sub-Zero Wolf: Seamless Design

There’s really so much to love about Sub-Zero Wolf, but we have to admit that we’re especially smitten by the company’s approach to integrated refrigeration. Decades ago, the company began producing refrigerators and freezers that were the same depth as kitchen counters in order to create a more cohesive look, and it’s something they’ve been building on ever since. These days, a Sub-Zero Wolf kitchen can go completely undetected as appliances blend seamlessly into any interior imaginable, thanks to things like custom paneling, invisible hinges and hidden vents.

One of the company’s most seamless integration systems is within each refrigerator. Inside the latest Sub-Zero designs, you’ll find refined touch-screen control panels and soft but bright LED lighting; Nano-covered shelves magically hold spills in place; crystal-clear surfaces create a sparkling interior; and adjustable drawer dividers allow you to determine exactly how you’d like the space to flow. As well, soft-close doors and drawers seal tightly and have a luxurious, hand-crafted feel.

Also integrated into new refrigerators is a microprocessor that monitors the interior temperature to keep it consistent. The dual refrigeration systems (separate each for the fridge and the freezer) make sure the correct humidity levels in each area are maintained. (Fast fact: your fresh foods need cold, humid air to stay fresh, while your frozen items require frosty, dry air.) Sub-Zero integrated refrigerators even have an antimicrobial air purification system that cleans the air of ethylene gas (a natural gas given off by many fruits and vegetables), mold, bacteria and even viruses. Sound like something designed by NASA? It was, in fact.

Yet all that amazing technology goes virtually unseen. It’s like a fabulous support cast that allows you shine on stage.
