Our History
1949
Walter Diamond and partner Lou Snyder’s vision is born. Snyder Diamond is the first in the U.S. to identify trends towards more decorative offerings for kitchen and bath spaces.
1960s
As an early pioneer of decorative products for the bath, Snyder Diamond becomes the first to complete vignette-style displays of fully integrated styles and ideas. Walt and Lou introduce innovative bath and kitchen products to local trade shows, establishing themselves as innovation leaders within the interior design and architectural community.
1970s
By integrating appliances, cabinetry and countertops into showrooms, Snyder Diamond becomes one of the first ‘one-stop’ showrooms.
1980s
Walt’s son Russ Diamond joins the company to carry on the tradition of leadership in kitchen and bath innovation. Seeking out the latest in design and technology from around the world, Russ introduces the U.S. to some of the most well-respected European manufacturers.
2000s
Still family-owned and operated, Russ brings renewed focus to innovation, customer support excellence and commitment to customers started by Walt and Lou over 70 years ago. He continues to source the latest trends and technology applications from around the globe.
2020s
In 2022, we opened our third showroom in the heart of the Valley, Van Nuys. Delivering innovative and novel ways to present kitchen, bath, outdoor and hardware products, our 12,500 square-foot store boasts a stunning exterior designed by award-winning L.A.-based architect Richard Landry.
Today
As CEO, Russ continues to push the legacy of Snyder Diamond forward while maintaining the company’s reputation as SoCal’s premier resource for bath fixtures, kitchen appliances and hard-to-find plumbing parts. Continuing to evolve, SD is expanding its support to interior designers, architects, builders and contractors, alongside homeowners.
