Designer Wendy Haworth creates beautiful homes throughout Los Angeles (and beyond) but we’re especially partial to her restaurant designs (namely Gracias Madre and Felix Trattoria) simply because we get to experience them for ourselves. The designer, who was recently profiled by Luxe magazine, is currently at work on a number of residential projects as well as a new Westwood restaurant from vegetarian chef Dana Slatkin. With so much in the works, we were thrilled to see her at Salone del Mobile and have her join our events. “I loved getting a private tour of the bath show with Russ,” she told us. “We were able to get so much more information than had we gone alone.” Music to our ears as that’s exactly the experience we wanted to provide for our design community! “The dinner in Lake Como was really fun, and the tour of the Prada Foundation with drinks at Bar Luce was a highlight.” But what are her favorite local highlights? We asked.
Art & Culture
There are so many great places to get a culture fix. I love going to LACMA for art and lectures and to Hauser & Wirth. The Huntington Library and Descanso Gardens [the rose garden, above] are great for a weekend outing, and screenings at Hollywood Forever Cemetery are always fun.
Finding Wellness
Exercise keeps me sane. I do hot yoga at Modo Yoga East and run along the Silver Lake Reservoir. I love taking baths with the works: salts, oil, and bubbles.
The Perfect Meal
Felix for the focaccia bread [above] and Napoletana pizza. Café Stella's moules frites. The mezze platter at The Little Door, eaten at the bar.
Feeds to Follow
I love the design sensibility of AD France [above] and Somewhere I Would Like to Live and then Patagonia to get a dose or nature and remember what’s important. I also love what they do as a company.
