The health and beauty insider shares her little black book of LA wellness practitioners and favorite products.
Snyder Diamond is a kitchen and bath showroom but we like to think of our third arm as wellness. Whether it’s healthy and efficient cooking options like sous vide or the myriad benefits of adding a steam shower to your regimen, we’ve got you covered. But we also know that there’s more to learn in this ever-evolving niche—especially in a city as progressive as Los Angeles. So when we had the opportunity to interview Kerrilynn Pamer of CAP Beauty for a “My LA” feature, you bet we jumped. If you don’t know Kerrilynn, you definitely should. Hers has been a fascinating journey in the wellness world, and one that begins, like so many things, with a very personal experience. “When I found out I had celiac about 10 years ago, it led me to a deep discovery process that tapped into all modalities. Since then, I've been diving deeper and deeper into the world of wellness, health and what that means to me,” she says.
“It's evolved along the way, as I have learned more and more, and, interestingly enough, the deeper I go, the looser I get with my practices. CAP is an amazing portal to discover the power of plants, both topically and internally. I am never not amazed by what the plant kingdom and Mother Nature offer to us on the daily.” Kerrilynn rightly refers to CAP’s West Village flagship in Manhattan as a “clubhouse and education center,” and we encourage you to stop by next time you’re in New York. In the meantime, check out a few of her insights and ideas below, and some of her favorite places for wellness in Los Angeles.
What are a few of your favorite must-have products, and why?
I live by The CAPtivator, a flower remedy that the brilliant Katie Hess developed for us that increases magnetism, love and libido. It works on a cellular level as well as scent and is truly magical.
And I’m so happy with The O'Clocks, our adaptogen range that covers what you need for the day. We have 8AM, 4PM and 10PM blends that support you over the course of the day. The profoundly talented Daoist herbalist Rehmannia Thomas developed these for us and I have seen them effect my day in such positive ways.
The Marie Veronique + Kristina Holey skincare range has changed my skin. I have rosacea and this protocol combined with the use of the ZIIP has reduced it in ways that nothing else has.
Our Coconut Butter is my daily habit. I add it to tonic drinks, smoothies or eat it by the spoonful. It's that good.
What are a few of your favorite healthful or wellness-focused things to do around Los Angeles?
I have a great network of friends and associates that are always turning me on to new things. It's pretty word of mouth. I love taking yoga with Tony G. at Yoga at the Raven (heading there now!), my friend Kat Turner owns Highly Likely, the new cafe in West Adams, and her food is a true celebration of the produce in this beautiful city and I also love an evening walk in Temescal Canyon with my husband.
Who are some local wellness experts that you like to recommend?
Lacy Phillips is changing so many lives through her easy to understand, yet effective manifestation teachings. I love visiting Anna Zahn at Ricari Studios for her genius Endermologie treatments. Fatima Williams is a great colon therapist, if that's your thing, and Kari Jensen of Poppy + Someday offers up one of the most beautiful massage treatments I've ever had.
Feeds to Follow
I don't follow a ton of wellness feeds, I like to follow food and lifestyle more as I feel like the pursuit of beautiful food and an abundant, enriched life is deep wellness. On that note, Heidi Swanson of 101 Cookbooks is one of my favorites, I also love Alison Roman and her daily feed. And I think what they are doing at Seed is amazing. So smart and transformative. And I love the ladies of Honey Hi, that are making delicious food that is inspired by health but leaves rigidity and judgment behind! [Illustrated clockwise from top left.]
Bonus Feature: A Little Real Estate News
Are you in need of a little extra space? Kerrilyn’s West Adams warehouse/office space is newly available for rent. The 1700-square-feet warehouse includes a kitchen, bathroom and loft office. The facade features a roll-up gate, and it’s located right next door to Highly Likely, which we think is highly awesome.
