The First Zero-Gravity Bathtub has Landed

This award-winning TOTO design is ahead of the curve

TOTO has won the KBIS Bath Gold Award for its Flotation Tub—the tub for your inner-astronaut! A decade’s worth of research went into refining the design, which replicates the body's posture at zero gravity. The company studied relaxation effects, biomechanics, neuroscience and ergonomics to develop a tub that enables the body to recline in such a position that the energy exerted on joints is reduced to nearly zero, hence a feeling of weightlessness. Made of a marble material exclusive to TOTO, the freestanding tub holds 77.5 gallons of water and retains its heat. Features include massaging jets, chromotherapy, an adjustable headrest, and a specially designed tap that cascades warm water over the neck and shoulders. And the whole tub glows at its base. It’s simply otherworldly.
