Little Luxuries from Sub-Zero Wolf

This year, Sub-Zero Wolf, the partnership of two long-time leaders in the kitchen industry, released its new 24-inch suite of appliances. The petite designs feature the same high-tech engineering and performance specifications as all of the company’s award-winning products, just in a smaller package. They’re the perfect solution for those short on space, yet in want of professional-grade appliances with a sleek, contemporary look.

"Now, designers and builders have the ability to incorporate Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances, typically associated with large, pro-style kitchens, into more compact kitchen footprints, making those spaces even more functional and attractive,” explains Brian Jones, Director of Marketing for Sub-Zero and Wolf.

The new collection includes refrigerators, freezers, induction cooktops, steam-convection ovens, E-series built-in ovens, myriad microwaves, wine storage, under-counter refrigeration/freezer units, and built-in coffee systems. And because we can’t resist sharing fun facts about the companies we represent, did you know that Sub-Zero’s roots go back to one man’s love for his child? In the 1930s, Westye Bakke began experimenting with new methods of refrigeration in order to more securely store his young son Bud’s insulin. His efforts were a success and Bakke founded Sub-Zero in 1945 in Madison, Wisconsin. He eventually passed the business on to Bud. You can see both gents in the image below, fittingly demonstrating an early compact fridge.

Brand Spotlight Integrated Wine Storage from Sub-Zero

“A ‘wine-cellar’ need not necessarily be in the cellar,” wrote celebrated Russian wine writer Alexis Lichine in his seminal 1967 encyclopedia, Wine & Spirits. “With a little ingenuity, it is often possible to convert some corner into a store for wines that are to be consumed reasonably soon.”
