Relive the best of Snyder Diamond in 2023.

Just when some of us were getting used to writing, and saying, ‘2023’, 2024 decided to arrive and now it’s time to start all over again. 

It was a big year for Snyder Diamond, but also for the SoCal homeowners and trade community who thought of us when it came to their kitchen, bath, outdoor, and wellness projects alongside the 300+ brands we offer that built their businesses with us. We’ve put together a sampling of our 2023 highlights below for your perusal and want to thank you all for making some of our favorite moments from this year possible and being a part of our journey.

We couldn’t be more excited for what lies ahead in 2024, but before we get ahead of ourselves, let’s remember that a lot happened in 2023. Like…a lot. 

FEBRUARY | Modernism Week Palm Springs

February's Modernism Week is a celebration of mid-century modern design, architecture, art, fashion and culture, and a chance for design lovers from around the world to come together to soak up the rich architectural heritage of Palm Springs and the surrounding Coachella Valley. But let's not forget, it's also a party.

In 2023 we teamed up with high-end appliance brand JennAir to host talented, and as it turns out, very fun L.A.-based interior designers. Highlights included JennAir's splendid evening held at the iconic Alexander House, several inspiring mid-century home tours (all outfitted with JennAir appliances), and the chance to hobnob with our greater design community—it was an immersive, joyous affair.

MARCH | Snyder Diamond x Viking Event

Early in 2023 we partnered with Viking to gather a group of local designers and architects at our new Snyder Diamond Van Nuys showroom in the heart of Van Nuys. The evening felt intimate, informative, and we all appreciated the chance to savor Chef Jimmy Matiz’s extraordinary dishes and swoon over Viking’s powerful French Door Wall-Oven and other Viking luxury appliances. Sending thanks to our Viking friends for the collaboration and helping to make the evening so memorable (and tasty).

MAY | Legends 2023 - LCDQ

The 3-day Legends Design Fair brings together thousands of design lovers from the worlds of interior design, decor, art, fashion and architecture in celebration of design. With activities strewn throughout the La Cienega Design Quarter (LCDQ), the fair is well known for its terrific programming: keynotes, discussions, and myriad opportunities to learn, gain inspiration, and yep…have fun.

La Cienega Design Quarter’s opening night party to commemorate designers Ken Fulk and Alexa Hampton—both recipients of LCDQ’s Living Legend Awards, was a highlight. The vibe was celebratory, and the familiar smiles, new friends, and laughs…the stuff legends are made of. 

MAY | Snyder Diamond x Gaggenau Event

The stars collided in the most magical of ways when Gaggenau and Snyder Diamond came together to sponsor a splendid afternoon at the new 1859 Bel Air estate. The sprawling 20,000 square-foot architectural triumph features interiors masterfully designed by César Giraldo perched on a property surrounded by panoramic views.

The occasion? To toast the completion of this massive structural undertaking and celebrate the highly-anticipated return of the Pacific Design Center’s Stars of Design and Stars On The Rise awards. Favorite moments? Plenty, but we loved it when guests took time to congratulate the deserving winners and nominees, including César himself, who took home the coveted Star On The Rise award.

MAY | Snyder Diamond x Samuel Heath Event

We were thrilled to collaborate with English luxury brand Samuel Heath to celebrate the launch of their chic new sustainable brassware collection, Forme. Set atop The London West Hollywood at Beverly Hills hotel, our guests enjoyed breathtaking views, British-inspired speciality cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, and getting to know the new collection of beautifully designed bathroom faucets.

Sending a special shout out to the collaborative Samuel Heath team including Managing Director Martyn Whieldon who made the trek all the way across the pond to join us.

MAY | Snyder Diamond x Thermador x ASID Induction Event

You’ve likely already noticed that in 2023 we talked a lot about induction—how the technology works, the benefits, and how it differs from other cooking methods. This is an important topic as there are still misunderstandings and knowledge gaps here in SoCal where the adoption of induction cooking will become commonplace in the coming years. It's particularly critical that we, designers, architects and other trade professionals servicing home and business owners have a firm grasp of the matter so we can properly guide clients through this shifting paradigm, so it was quite exciting to work with ASID’s Pasadena chapter to bring together subject-matter experts Stephen Pallrand of CarbonShack, Russ Diamond of Snyder Diamond, and Joseph Coulombe of Thermador, at our historic Pasadena showroom to get their informed takes on induction appliances. A great dinner, panel discussion, and an eye-opening product demonstration illustrated that learning can be both fun, and delicious. 

SEPTEMBER | Snyder Diamond Van Nuys Showroom Grand Opening

We don't believe hard work should go unnoticed. In fact, we believe it should be celebrated.

This was the thinking behind our Van Nuys Grand Opening party in September. Sponsored by Luxe Magazine and a long list of our committed brand partners—hundreds of local interior designers, architects, builders, plumbers, and other design-related trade professionals joined us to celebrate, hobnob with the brands and explore the stunning new space. 

It took several years of methodical planning and development to bring SoCal’s most luxurious, state-of-the-art kitchen & bathroom showroom to life; featuring 12,500 square feet, hundreds of top-tier brands and products, and an exquisite exterior designed by legendary architect Richard Landry, the showroom highlights SD's continuous quest to 'always be first with what's next'. If you haven’t done so already, swing by the Snyder Diamond Van Nuys showroom and say hello. 

SEPTEMBER | Una Malan x Kallista x Monogram Event

In September, we came together with Kallista, Monogram, and Marble Unlimited Inc alongside some of our favorite local designers and architects for a memorable evening thanks to chef Richie Million and his exquisitely prepared menu. The cocktails (courtesy of Doce Mezcal) were everything, the food spectacular, and the conversations—sparkling.

The setting played an important role in the evening as Una Malan’s Una Casa Privada, nestled in the Hollywood Hills, is the very epitome of welcoming charm and sophistication. Featuring high-end products from Kallista, Marble Unlimited, and Monogram, the Privada home reinforces the idea that thoughtfully designed residential spaces are something you can feel as much as see, and can go a long way in making guests feel welcome and special.

NOVEMBER | WestEdge Design Fair

When it comes to the WestEdge Design Fair, our history runs deep. Many may not know that we were their very first L.A. sponsor, and our relationship, enthusiasm and support for this marvelous design-focused event are still strongly intact.

Needless to say, after a three-year hiatus, we and the greater design community were thrilled to see the WestEdge Design Fair come roaring back to life at Santa Monica’s Barker Hangar. Featuring panel discussions, culinary demonstrations, workshops, parties, and 175 brands spanning furniture, lighting, art, kitchen, and bath.

There were too many magic moments to list, but we were thrilled to support designer Julia Wong and her stunning VIP lounge, where we joined fellow lounge sponsors and friends Kallista and Monogram—the definitive highlight of Thursday’s opening night party. We also really enjoyed partnering with luxury brand GRAFF to host a smashing, exclusive After Hours party at The Cloverfield, and support designer Ryan Saghian’s book signing at the GRAFF booth.

DECEMBER | Future Perfect Tours

Our tradition of The Future Perfect visits continued into 2023, including an inspirational morning tour with a spirited, talented group of designers followed by an excellent lunch at award-winning Chef Michael Mina's Mother Tongue, thanks to acclaimed K&B luxury brand Kallista. Sending additional thanks to David Alhadeff and friends at The Future Perfect. 

2024? The forecast looks promising: among other things, we have a Diamond Jubilee to celebrate, and expect big changes inside our Snyder Diamond Santa Monica showroom location. Watch this space for updates in the coming months and thanks again for being part of our story.
