On October 11, Snyder Diamond and DesignLA, the Los Angeles Times’ lifestyle magazine, co-hosted a cocktail party at the home of furniture designer Kimberly Denman and her husband Laurent Rebuffel. The couple lives at the Talmadge, one of Koreatown’s most beloved historic buildings, where they’ve created a home that doubles as a showroom for Denman’s pieces (which you’ll also find at Jean de Merry) and the myriad designers they represent. “It’s a magical place that allows us to create a space where you’re not quite in LA but not NY either... may be a touch of Paris… and therefore it becomes a very personal space,” says Kimberly. “The apartment really lends it self to showcasing art and artists, and it gives us the space to entertain and create a comfortable, fun environment for people to connect.” The intimate event brought together friends old and new, and gave everyone a chance to really converse—and to indulge. We can’t let it pass without major props to Laurent, a fantastic home chef who catered the event himself. Chicken liver pâté, gougères, brined oysters and caviar, cauliflower panna cotta and chocolate macarons. Everything homemade. Everything exquisite. The evening was a huge success and we’re excited to already hear whispers of a few new collaborations resulting from the party. That’s just kind of cross-pollination we hope to inspire.
