Last spring we brought you a post highlighting the latest designs from Fantini. It’s been a non-stop year of incredible releases by the family-owned Italian manufacturer, so we’re bringing you a second roundup of all the beautifully designed products that have launched since our previous post. Designer Matteo Thun has added two new handle options to the Venezia collection, which first came to market in 2010. The sophisticated line evokes style and luxury, combining Murano glass with stately geometric forms. The first of the new handles takes the form of a transparent glass disc, solid but with faceted edges that allow a glimpse of the serigraphy on the base for a surprising three-dimensional effect. The second new control option is a tapered, horizontal form. This modern interpretation of a classic lever handle is available in black or chrome, and suited to both contemporary and traditional tastes.

Icona is Fantini’s first collection with renowned Belgian architect and designer Vincent Van Duysen. The collection features elegant taps and controls that interpret timeless designs with a subtle and refined interplay of proportions. Icona Classic is a graceful, arched design accompanied by low-profile cross handles. Icona Deco’s tap and lever-shaped controls further streamline the collection’s minimalist sensibility. Both options emphasize functionality, durability, and comfort expressed through a quiet aesthetic that follows neither trends nor fashions. The collection is available in multiple finishes that range from the traditional chrome and nickel to the more tactile and industrial gunmetal or copper bronze, two new Fantini finishes that debuted earlier this year.

The Nice collection by Matteo Thun and Antonio Rodriguez joins the design team’s much-loved portfolio for Fantini, which also includes the Venezia and Lamé collections. This new line is characterized by eye-catching colors combined with translucent elements that create surprising optical effects and a wonderfully sensory experience for the user. The project is an energetic exploration of color and material, exhibited through the sensual, elegant and refined lines for which the designers are known. In the words of the designers, Nice is “An homage to the essence of water and its beauty: transparent, fresh, and colorful.”

In addition to Nice, Matteo Thun and Antonio Rodriguez have also introduced Now, a new concept for the shower featuring sleek design pared down to its most fundamental gestures. The collection includes a compact version with double function (both shower and tap with a tub spout incorporated into one column) in addition to a handheld option.

Fantini is especially pleased to introduce Fontane Bianche, the fruit of their long artistic collaboration with Salvatori, the Italian design company renowned for its skill in transforming stone. The two companies’ shared passion for excellence and desire to blend creativity and technology brought them together for a completely original expression. Designed by Elisa Ossino, Fontane Bianche fuses the natural elements of marble and water. The design arose from research into archetypal forms, such as in Greek mythology, which were then translated into geometric precision and reinterpreted in a contemporary vein. A dialogue between circle and square flows through the collection, a metaphor for the relationship between the psyche and the material. The washbasin, for example, is created from a square marble block, from which a circular hemisphere is extracted. Featuring a slim, curved 90-degree shape, the tap is evocative of the radius of the washbasin itself, and the controls reference once more the relationship of circle and square. Rich materials enhance the purity of the form: marble and stone for the washbasins, and gunmetal finish for the taps.

The Milano collection, introduced in 2014 by Franco Sargiani, isa mainstay of the Fantini catalogue and now, with the debut of MilanoSlim Easy, the line has even more to offer. Thin and simple, the 60-mm-wide panel is the unifying design feature of the Milano collection but in this version, the control knobs have been aligned with the column and the front jets removed to create an alternative to the original design. Faithful to the visual themes and motifs of the original collection, MilanoSlim Easy, as its name suggests, brings the most streamlined silhouette and minimalist expression to the line.
