This spring KWC America announced the launch of the ZOE bath line, an expansion of the company’s hugely successful ZOE kitchen collection. The distinctive contemporary lines of the kitchen design have translated into an equally dynamic range of sink, shower and bath fixtures, all of which were created by the German firm NOA Design Studio. Used together, the kitchen and bath lines create a sweeping sense of continuity throughout a home. Come see for yourself when the collection hits our showrooms in July.
The new bath collection, which is available in chrome and stainless steel, includes a variety of faucet options for the lavatory: single-lever and two-handle; widespread basin-mounted models; and a single-lever, wall-mounted unit. The spout on the wall-mounted model is a straightened version of the basin models, whose design echoes the same arcing shape of the original kitchen faucet. For the bathtub, ZOE offers a singular spout and four shower valve trim kits: two thermostatic models (with and without diverter, depending on whether the application is for shower only or for a tub-shower), and two pressure balance models (again, with and without diverter). Both valves are designed to keep the water in the shower at a safe and comfortable temperature.
Now for a little bit more on what sets ZOE apart. Like its kitchen counterpart (which you can read about here), bath spouts rotate 90 degrees, or 45 degrees in either direction from its center point, which makes it easier to rinse down the basin without splashing water all over the place. The lateral movement also enhances the sculptural qualities of the design—with every movement the faucet takes on a different silhouette. And thanks to the minimalist design, there’s only one major seam (at the swivel point) which makes it’s easier to keep clean. The simple lever design features a slender pin-like lever that is pulled forward for cold water and pushed back for hot water, a common-sense feature that’s designed to protect users, especially children, from burns. As well, all lavatory faucets are equipped with a pressure-compensating aerator that flows at a water-saving rate of 1.5 gallons per minute. It’s a feature that may soon earn ZOE the WaterSense label, which is awarded to bath and shower products that are certified to use at least twenty percent less water than other products, all without sacrificing performance or quality.
