We’re beyond excited to announce our second annual trip to Salone del Mobile this spring. It’s a program we’ve created exclusively for the L.A. design community, and now’s the time to sign up. Don’t miss our new story on Design Milk, too!
As many of you already know, our owner, Russ Diamond, has been attending the fair for years and understands that it can be overwhelming to even the savviest of visitors. To help make the event more accessible, and because of Russ’s longtime friendships with Italian manufacturers like Gessi, Kreoo and Fantini, we are able to offer a week of programming that makes the fair less intimidating and a lot more fun. Building on last year’s success, we’ll again start things off with a pre-party at Poliform in Los Angeles. It will give everyone a chance to make friends and to learn more about what we have planned.
This year’s events include a welcome party at Bulgari Hotel Milano co-hosted by Kneedler Fauchère, private dinners and day trips, an afternoon visit to architect Piero Lisoni’s loft-like studio, cocktails at Gessi’s showroom in the heart of the Brera Design District, and more. You’re also invited to a private breakfast and tour of Poliform’s booth. (Just check out their gorgeous home and kitchen installations from last year!) Our roster of events is designed to be easy, fun and flexible—join us for everything or pick and choose what’s most relevant to you. It’s that easy.
This year, we’re especially grateful for our incredible partners who have helped make it all happen: GC Collaborative, Poliform, Kneedler Fauchère, Stark, Black Crow Studios, Design Milk, and DesignLA. Below are a few thoughts from some of our 2018 attendees. We can’t wait to see what the 2019 trip brings!
“Visiting Milan for the Salone is a feast for any designer’s imagination; there is inspiration around every corner. A real feast with new and old friends is also a treat!! Thank you Snyder-Diamond!” William Mungall, Landry Design Group
“Traveling to Milan for Salone De Mobile would have been only half the experience without Ginna Christensen and the GC Collaborative’s events and influences!” Ames Ingham, Ames Ingham Design
“One of my favorite memories from our Milan week was the evening in Lake Como. It only would have been better if it was at George and Amal’s villa, which hopefully will be on the itinerary next year, Ginna. Thanks, GC Collaborative and Snyder Diamond, for all of the great events. It was such a blast.” Wendy Haworth, Wendy Haworth Design Studio
“It was a terrific Salone this year and I greatly appreciated all of your invites. That said, my absolute highlight was the Fantini tour, Casa Fantini and Lake Orta discovery–I’m thrilled that Fantini is available in the US–what a fine brand! And what a fine group of people!” Mary Ann Schicketanz, Studio Schicketanz
“The tour of the Fantini Factory and Casa Fantini at Lago d’Orta was the highlight of our Salone experience. The hotel, factory, and showroom completely embody the high quality design and hospitality of the Fantini family brand.” Edel Legaspi, Legaspi Courts Design
"The energy at Salone was particularly high this year, and GC Collaborative was instrumental in bringing the California design world together in Milan. DesignLA, Flexform and GC Collaborative co-hosted a dinner to kick off the week, and we hope to make that an annual tradition at Salone. I also visited the Fantini facilities with GCC and Snyder Diamond, and joined them for a guided tour of the Prada Foundation in Milan, which was inspiring. I'm already looking forward to next year!" Michael Wollaeger, DesignLA
