Classic ranges, columnal refrigerators and laundry systems to love.
Fisher & Paykel may go back to 1930s New Zealand but they didn’t become hugely familiar to many people until more recently when, in 2012, the company was bought by Chinese consumer electronics and home appliances group, Haier. That change brought about greater expansion for the company and its put their name on many of our customers’ lips. And with reason, these are incredibly beautiful products! Just ask Athena Calderone of EyeSwoon and David Alhadeff of Future Perfect.
And guess who’s now a brand ambassador? Our own Chef Ludo Lefebvre! (Well ok, so he’s French, but we’ll claim him as an Angeleno.) Check out this special Dwell story and video on his getting to know the new DCS Series 9 Grill.
Fisher & Paykel also recently did another Dwell video about their integrated column refrigeration systems, which, we have to add, are downright sexy designs. “With three different food modes on each side, this unique flexibility ensures that everything from farmers’ market produce to fresh fish, and even your favorite bottle of sauvignon blanc, is stored at optimal temperatures. On top of creating an elegant, versatile refrigerator that adapts to different patterns of use in consumers’ lives, "our goal is to keep food very happy," says Shane Rehm, Vice President of Product at the New Zealand-based company. "All Column appliances have active smart refrigeration systems, which have sensors and software’s to detect both the kitchen environment, as well as the number of door openings that go on," he explains. "So if you go away on holiday or simply overnight, it detects that the product is not being used and readjusts optimization.” How’s that for energy efficiency!
