Since getting its start in 2009, West Hollywood-based design firm Studio Life. Style has quietly become a leading proponent of California style today. Founder Shannon Wollack and her partner, principal designer Brittany Zwickl, have crafted a portfolio of hip homes for Hollywood types and family retreats farther afield (like this gorgeous home in La Quinta), as well as cool commercial projects like Sugar Paper in Brentwood, the Little Market in the Palisades, and Facile skincare in Pasadena. It’s no wonder they were tapped by Hilary Duff to help with the redesign of her LA home. (You can see the Better Homes & Gardens feature here.) This week, we’ve asked Shannon to take us around “her” LA—read on for her list of the people and places that should be on your radar, too.
Arts & Culture
Hollywood Pantages Theatre, via Travel Notes
The Marciano Art Foundation, because it’s small and intimate. The Pantages Theatre—it’s an old, beautiful building. A throwback to the best performances in LA and the closest you can get to New York. And the Hollywood Bowl. It’s quintessential Los Angeles: Old Hollywood, outdoors and family friendly.
Finding Wellness

I am huge meditator. I frequent UNPLUG (the location and app). I also love Body by Simone and go a few times a week. For skin, I am a Facile addict. We designed their space and they are our neighbors.
Favorite Restaurants
Tower Bar, via Eater Los Angeles
The Tower Bar at the Sunset Tower hotel. I love their build your own ice cream sundae! Matsuhisa—their artichoke salad is the best. Jon and Vinny's… anything on the menu!
Where is Home?
The designer’s gorgeous backyard, where she and design partner Brittany Zwickl hosted a party for Snyder Diamond and C Magazine last November. Check out our event post to see more. Photogpher Stephanie Plomarity
Brentwood. I love the community aspect and that it’s family friendly, in addition to having great restaurants and shopping. We end up spending most of our time at the Brentwood Country Mart.
On Giving Back

The girls at This is About Humanity are near and dear to us! We try to be as involved as possible by hosting trips down to the border and by raising money for the foundation. We also work closely with the Violence Intervention Program by hosting their bi-annual events as well as raising money for the foundation. We love being hands on with both.
