Denise Bosely Interiors | The Laundry Cafe
Denise Bosley has been an interior designer for 17 years and worked mostly for architects until starting her namesake design firm six years ago. Today she focuses primarily on residential interior architecture and offers design services from permit to construction, drawings to furniture, and window treatments.
One of the many skills required for a thriving interior business is the ability to see the hidden potential in every space. Inside the 2022 Showhouse, Denise’s creative touch transformed the laundry room into a space that blends creativity and utility to perfection.

“The room was originally designated the laundry room, but I wanted it to be more of a destination: a multi-purpose room where you’d actually want to spend time. I chose the room because it is a large space right off the kitchen and it has four awning windows that swing in and attach to the ceiling, which is such a unique feature. I added a work desk and a coffee bar and called it the Laundry Café.

We are using an LG wash tower which I love because it is full capacity and it has the controls in the middle. It's not your standard stackable washer/dryer! We are also using a 15" LG beverage center in the coffee bar. Some of the other unique products are a folding ironing board that comes out of a drawer and a dry hanging rack from Pulleymaid that is on a pulley system.”

“I wanted a space that is a little bit feminine, but not girly. Our soft fabrics are a stark contrast to the rich cabinetry which is stained a very dark chocolate brown. It's basically my dream library, a space where you could have a drink after dinner, or curl up with a book on a day off—a feel-good, cozy spot.

We’ve worked with so many wonderful vendors this year including gorgeous fabrics and wallpapers from Kravet. I designed a custom bar cabinet that includes a small Perlick beverage fridge from Snyder Diamond. Additionally, I’m a fan of vintage so there are also pieces from Chairish & Etsy which add so much charm to a space. I am a huge fan of repurposing furniture & accessories when possible."

Christine Jahan Designs | Young Adult Ensuite
Christine Jahan is the owner of Christine Jahan Designs, an Award-Winning Interior Design firm based out of Glendora, CA. Christine brings a liberating approach to creating custom spaces. A lifelong traveler, her experiences and expert ability to read her clients ensure that the spaces she designs are authentically beautiful.
Christine’s dedication to authentic beauty shines bright this year, the result of her highly empathetic approach to the design process. She explains:
“This year I was given the Young Adult Ensuite (bathroom). We’re talking adults in their 20’s and 30’s who would find themselves living at home with their parents again. When I thought about what the concept would be I started with trying to understand how it would feel to come back home and what I would need. You’d likely feel sad and disappointed among many other complex feelings. So, the concept was born: Restorative Peace.

I wanted the bathroom to feel like a place where you could recharge with zero distractions. Uplifting, fresh, serene, restful, harmonious, grounded, inspirational, rejuvenating, balanced, and refined were the conceptual words I designed the space around. I think people can accomplish incredible things when given the right environment and resources, and I wanted this space to really add to this young adult’s life.

To start, I used Kohler for the plumbing fixtures. My favorite item of theirs is the Pallene Glass Countertop Sink; it really exudes beauty and strength. It’s perfectly complimented by the Purist wall-mounted faucet. The bath wall-mount faucet, showering fixtures, and other bath accessories are also part of the Purist line.
My design required a custom length drain so I immediately thought of Infinity Drain for that. The nine slabs of Brazilian cloud white marble lining the bathroom walls came from Elements Stone in North Hollywood. The sconces were from ET2 and my recessed lights, LED’s, and smart plugs/switches were all from Mid-West Lighting. The lime wash paint came from Portola Paints. To round out the in-person experience, I chose At-Aroma and am using their Air professional aroma diffuser – it uses the venturi method, a heat-free oil dispersion method. To get the full experience you’ll need to come to the Pasadena Showcase House.”
