The Latest from Duravit, plus Upcoming Events with Marc Appleton and Richard Landry

Duravit has introduced its latest collection, Brioso, which means lively in Italian. The new range was designed in collaboration with Christian Werner and creates a timeless but versatile look. At first glance, it may appear minimalist with its wall-mounted or sleek-legged forms but it’s actually quite complex in its simplicity. It’s the first Duravit collection to offers different handle and leg color options, and its mirrors are designed with a sensor switch, an integrated de-fogger and LED lighting, plus a washbasin downlight. Brioso pairs with Duravit's Universal Console line, so it’s perfectly compatible with other Duravit ceramic design series such as, Vero Air, Me by Starck, Starck 3 and D-Code. (You can see several of those lines in our previous post, Duravit’s Global Approach.) Brioso furniture is available with one or two drawers for additional functionality, and the cabinets, which come in several sizes, offer even greater storage and utility. Brioso comes in veneer or lacquer finishes, with a matte, gloss or linen look, and in a contemporary palette of light blues and grays, whites, and darker concrete hues. The New Year also brings a couple of terrific book-related events that you’ll want to know about. The first is a book signing with Marc Appleton, Steve Vaught and Bret Parsons for the latest in their architectural series, Roland E. Coate. The event is TONIGHT, January 15th, at Chevalier Books on Larchmont at 7pm.

And on January 28th at 11am, real estate company Compass is hosting the Architecture + Design Lecture No. 44 at the Pacific Design Center, featuring architect Richard Landry. Landry will discuss the creative process behind his celebrated homes and his new book, Modern to Classic, Volume II. The event includes a complimentary light lunch preceding the signing.
